Police: Butler man accused of assaulting teen girl
A Butler man was accused of inappropriately touching and exposing himself to a teenage girl, according to charges filed by city police Monday, Aug. 21.
Michael A. Simmer, 40, was charged with felonies involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault, and misdemeanors indecent exposure, terroristic threats and indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age.
Police said a 14-year-old girl disclosed the assaults at the Butler County Child Advocacy Center, saying Simmer touched her inappropriately several times.
She also disclosed she asked Simmer to stop, and that he threatened to kill her if she told anyone, police said.
Simmer was interviewed and admitted to the assaults occurring, police said.
Simmer’s preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
