MARS — The Mars Borough Council gave John Podolak, proprietor of After Hours Tattoo Studio, the go-ahead to host a Halloween festival on Oct. 14 in Mars.

The festival, which will require a large portion of Grand Avenue to be closed off for five hours, will run 5 to 10 p.m. At Monday night’s meeting, Podolak promised the borough council that he would offer costume contests for adults, kids, and dogs, as well as an appearance from Derrick Smith and Daniel Metelsky, the Iron City Paranormal Investigators.

Podolak is fresh off hosting the Rumble Car Show at Saxonburg’s Volunteer Fire Department grounds last month. This was the fourth Rumble Car Show, and the first to be held in Saxonburg after three successful showings in Mars.
