Sloan

William B. Sloan Jr., 80, of Middlesex Township, Valencia, passed away on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 10, 2023, at Rochester Manor in Rochester, Pa.

Born in Jonesboro, Ark., on May 5, 1943, he was the son of the late William B. and Nancy Wells Sloan Sr.

He attended Point Park College.

Bill had been the Middlesex Township zoning officer for many years and had previously worked for IBM.

Surviving are a daughter, Donna Louise Sloan-Barry (James) of Ambridge; a son, Christopher Sloan in Michigan; his grandchildren, Lillian Louise and Isla Mae Sloan; two stepsons, Bryan DeHart (JoAnn Echtler) of Middlesex Township and Benjamin “Jamie” DeHart (Jenny) of Pittsburgh; and two stepgrandchildren, Mara and Finn DeHart.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene D. Cricks Sloan, whom he married on Feb. 14, 1987, and who died on Jan. 19, 2021.

SLOAN — Friends of William B. Sloan Jr., who died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave. Mars.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Glade Run Cemetery, Middlesex Township.
