Anthony L. Maletta, 96, of Greensburg, formerly of Butler, passed away Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, at Redstone Highlands in Greensburg.

Born March 22, 1927, in Butler, he was a son of the late Antonio and Aurora (Capellari) Maletta.

Anthony retired from the U.S. Steel Railroads, where he served as assistant treasurer. He was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Michael Roman Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Kiwanis. He played cubs football and basketball and was a lifetime golfer.

He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Surviving are his son, Robert (Maria) Maletta of Maryland; his daughter, Dr. Karen (Martin) Lang of Greensburg; two grandsons, Anthony and Nicholas Maletta, both of Maryland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Antoinette Maletta, who passed away on April 14, 1995. They were married on May 25, 1957. He also was predeceased by two brothers, James and Silvio Maletta.

MALETTA — Family and friends of Anthony L. Maletta, who died Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, will be received from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 East Cunningham St., Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler.

Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery in Butler.

Memorial donations may be made in his honor to a charity of choice.
