Dennis Wallace

Dennis “George” Wallace, 71, of Harrisville, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Aug. 6, 2023, at West Penn Hospital.

George was born May 28, 1952, in Grove City, to the late James Patrick Wallace Sr. and the late Josephine Sylvia Anderson Wallace.

George proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam, having been stationed in Thailand. He was a member of the American Legion Post 243 in West Sunbury and attended the Boyers Methodist Church. George retired as a high-lift operator from Mercer Lime & Stone Co. following 43 years of service.

George is survived by his wife, Jackie Double Wallace, whom he married Oct. 20, 1990; three daughters, Robin, Tina and Amy; one son, Douglas E. (Amanda) Wallace, of Grove City; and one granddaughter, Lucy Sue Wallace. Also surviving are two sisters, Esther (Isaiah “Ike”) Williams and Judy (John Henry) Williams, both of Butler; two brothers, Gary N. “Ding” Wallace and Douglas (Jennifer) Wallace, both of Butler; numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, his husky, Maverick.

George was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.

WALLACE — Family and friends of Dennis “George” Wallace, who died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2023, will be received from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Williard Morse officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Varnum Cemetery.
