Betty Jane Arscott, 95, of Zelienople, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023, while under the care of Passavant Retirement Community.

Born Aug. 8, 1927, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late John Milton McCormick and Emma Barb McCormick.

Betty was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Gibsonia, where she had also served as the church secretary for 20 years. More recently she became a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Cranberry Township, and then later attended services at the Seaman Memorial Chapel when she moved to Passavant in Zelienople. She belonged to the Syria RV Club with her late husband and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her two daughters, Kathy (Bernard) Campbell of Florence, S.C., and Linda (Norman) Ryan of Allison Park; her grandson, John R. (Lisa) Maier; her great-granddaughter, Victoria Maier; her sister-in-law, Betty Arscott; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John G. Arscott, who passed away on Dec. 8, 2007; and her brother, Robert Thompson.

ARSCOTT — A memorial service for Betty Jane Arscott, who died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023, will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 21, 2023, with a visitation from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service, at the Seaman Memorial Chapel at Passavant Retirement Community, 105 Burgess Drive, Zelienople, with the Rev. Freda Snyder officiating.

She will be laid to rest at Mount Royal Cemetery in Glenshaw.

Memorial donations can be made in Betty’s honor to the Passavant Benevolent Fund/ LAS Foundation, 105 Burgess Drive, Zelienople, PA 16063.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
