Nicklas

Robert “Butch” Nicklas, of Lynchburg, Va., passed away peacefully at Pearls of Life Memory Care Facility on Monday, July 31, 2023.

He was the son of the late Aubrey and Helen Nicklas. He was born on Jan. 31, 1944, and was formerly of Connoquenessing.

He proudly served on active duty in the U.S. Navy and then retired from the U.S. Army Reserves. Butch retired from AK Steel and was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and Grace Fellowship.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joanne; daughters, Shiryl (Tim), Renee (Neil) and Annie; a son, Robb; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers; and Karla and her two children.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, John; nephew, Larry; and Helen Janicki.
