National Alliance on Mental Illness to offer free course starting in September
The National Alliance on Mental Illness in Butler County is currently accepting registration for its free Family to Family course which will cover topics such as up-to-date information on mental health conditions and how they effect the brain.
This eight-week course is to start Sept. 27 and continue through Nov. 15 at the Holly Point Building, 220 S. Main St. in Butler, which is designed for family members and close friends of those who live with a mental health condition. Classes will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Other topic areas include how to handle a crisis, current treatments, problem solving, communication and how to find and use local services.
Space is limited and all course material is provided free of charge.
