Robert E. ‘Bob’ Angert, 88, of Karns City, died Wednesday, July 26, 2023, in the Abie Abraham VA Health Care Center, following an illness.

He was born Jan. 27, 1935, in Oakland Township, Butler County, the son of the late Harry Angert and the late Barbra McGinley Angert.

Bob was a U.S. Air Force and Korean War veteran. He was assistant superintendent of steel stores for Pullman Standard in Butler until the plant closed. He then worked for Alexander Mills of Prospect as a crane operator in New Castle.

He was a member of Chicora American Legion and the Chicora Moose Lodge.

He is survived by two daughters, Robin and Ralph Belles, of Marionville, and Kimberlee Pyle, of Karns City; two sons, Kevin Angert, of Renfrew, and Brian Angert, of Karns City; three grandchildren, Kylie Codispot and (Ashlee) Codispot, Brianna and Mike Raddatz, and Cody and Ashley Belles; three great-grandchildren, Avery Gregor, Hannah Gregor and Deklan Raddatz; two brothers, Don Angert and Jane (deceased) and Kenny and Debbie Angert; two sisters, Jane and Ron DeBacco and Susan and Dennis Double; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanine L. (Johnson) Angert; and three brothers, Raymond Angert, Harley ‘Sarg’ Angert and David Angert.

The family wishes to thank the Butler VA for their compassion and care for Bob.

ANGERT — At the request of the family of Robert E. ‘Bob’ Angert, who died Wednesday, July 26, 2023, there will be no viewing, visitation or service at this time as everything is private.
