Police: Man charged with drug sales
A Bruin man was charged with selling drugs after methamphetamine and heroin were found in his home, according to state police.
Gilbert E. Smith, 43, was charged with two counts of felony drug sales, and six misdemeanor counts of drug possession after police served a search warrant on his home in Bruin.
Smith was placed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bond.
Police said the search was conducted March 30, and paraphernalia was found throughout the house. In the living room, 102 bags, or two bricks, of suspected heroin/fentanyl was discovered, documents showed.
Nearly 7 grams of methamphetamine were found in various places throughout the home, according to police.
Police also found digital scales, THC wax containers, a black powder pistol, a shotgun, a rifle, used and new glassine bags, bags, and two cell phones, court documents state.
Smith’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 8 before District Judge Lewis Stoughton.
