Kelsey Stover, of Portersville, was named Butler County’s 2024 Distinguished Young Woman in May, and will advance to the statewide scholarship program to be held in Pittsburgh next month.

In her capacity as a Distinguished Young Woman, Kelsey, a Slippery Rock High School senior, will represent Butler County at various public events and serve as a role model to young people by spreading the program’s message to “Be Your Best Self.”

Kelsey was one of eight young women chosen for the distinction across the state.

Participants were evaluated in the categories of scholastics, interview, talent, fitness and self-expression.

The successful candidate in August will travel to national finals in Mobile, Alabama in June 2024 to vie against 49 other girls for Class of 2024 representative in the Distinguished Young Woman program.

Kelsey is the daughter of Eric Stover and Kara Nastasi.
