Route 422 ramp project continues with Kittanning off ramp closure

The Route 8010 interchange westbound off ramp on Route 422 will be closed from 6 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday, July 31, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The ramp, leading to Kittanning, is the latest in the Route 422 ramp preservation project in Manor and Rayburn townships, Armstrong County, which started on June 26.

To detour the closure of the Route 8010 interchange westbound off ramp, motorists should continue traveling on westbound Route 422/southbound Route 28 to the exit for Route 286 West Kittanning; take Business Route 422 eastbound/Route 268 eastbound through West Kittanning; and then Route 1038 eastbound, crossing over the Allegheny River into Kittanning.

The contractor, Derry Construction of Latrobe, will be completing the $14.3 million project, with a projected completion date set for November, PennDOT said.
