Lucy Thompson
Lucy S. Thompson, 62, of West Sunbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
She was born in Miami, Fla., on July 28, 1960, to Alicia (Angel) and the late Alfredo Azula. After high school, Lucy attended UCLA, studying human resources. Lucy worked for Lifesteps in Butler, becoming the Senior Vice President of Human Resources for many years. Later in life, she started her dream profession as a local photographer. She had owned and operated “Photography You Will Love” since 2009.
Always beautiful and classy herself, she had a way of showcasing the best in those around her. She was extremely creative and always saw the beauty in people and situations. She was beloved by so many. Lucy had an amazing sense of humor, was always positive and was a “strong-willed fighter.” She enjoyed gardening, cooking, going to the beach, swimming, dancing and most of all spending time with her family.
She was the beloved wife and soulmate of Jeff Thompson, whom she married in 1990; mother of Krista Thompson, James Thompson (Brittany) and Kayla Hillwig (Justin); sister of Maria Kaczperski, Alfredo Azula, Andy Azula and Roberto Azula; and sister-in-law of Kelley Thompson. She also is survived by her beloved dogs, Spike and Trixie.
THOMPSON — A memorial Mass with a celebration luncheon to follow will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2023, at St. Faustina Parish, St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, 202 W. State St., West Sunbury.
