PennDOT announces detour on I-79 for August
A detour is scheduled for August on Interstate 79 for the continued demolition of the Portersville Bridge in Muddy Creek Township, the state Department of Transportation announced.
From Aug. 9 through 18, motorists traveling north on I-79 should exit at the Exit 96 off-ramp and get back onto I-79 via the northbound on-ramp. Southbound motorists should take Exit 99 to Route 422 westbound, then Route 19 southbound to Route 488 eastbound to I-79 southbound.
The project is anticipated to be completed in June 2024. The bridge replacement is estimated to cost $6.3 million.
