Specialized Staffing & Industry Recruiters is under new ownership as of Monday, July 17, according to founder Lisa Bruno-Guard.

It was purchased by Adam Whitaker and Bill Best, who also own CHS Solutions in Monroeville.

The new ownership will help Butler-based Specialized Staffing work with CHS Solutions to help employers in many industries, such as manufacturing, find the right employees for their companies, Bruno-Guard and Whitaker said.

“(CHS) does a lot of work with manufacturing companies and so do we,“ Bruno-Guard said. ”They can also staff production and more technical positions that are really out of our scope.“

Whitaker and Best purchased CHS Solutions in September 2022.

Whitaker, principal owner of both businesses, said he is excited about the purchase of Specialized Staffing as it will help expand CHS outreach and services.

”We are looking forward to this opportunity with Specialized Staffing to broaden our services into that Butler market,“ Whitaker said. ”We see this acquisition as helping to provide solutions for the same customer base from the administrative side with Specialized to the labor side with CHS across a wider geography."

Bruno-Guard said she was pleased with the meetings she had with Whitaker and Best regarding the sale. She said they share the vision she has on servicing the same industries from different angles.

"It's two different sides of the same industry,“ Bruno-Guard said. ”That's what makes it work perfectly, because our clients are the same as their clients. But then they have some that we have never worked with, and we have some they have never worked with."

Bruno-Guard said Specialized Staffing celebrated its 25th anniversary in July 2022, which got her thinking about what might be next.

"I'm going to remain on board to assist with the transition, but essentially I am retiring from staffing,“ she said. "I'm certified as a personal trainer; I'm really into fitness, so that's what I'm going to do next. I'm working one-on-one with fitness clients to help get them back into shape."

She said very little will change for Specialized Staffing and its employees.

"Because there was so little change, (the transition) was seamless,“ Bruno-Guard said. ”The only thing that's different is probably the color of the paychecks.

“Our employees will all remain our employees, and we are aligned with their employees now. We will be one team, but we have the capacity to do more now. But everybody is remaining in their same capacity right now.“
