Cameron Howard
He was amazing! Cameron joined the angels on July 16, 2023, at the age of just 16. He will always be remembered fondly by all the hearts and lives he touched.
Cameron (Cam) David Howard was born Sept. 6, 2006, to Jason David Howard and Stephanie.
Cam was often seen commanding his service dog Wisteria (Wizzy Woo) to assist him in his daily needs. Wizzy was always loyal and helped Cam cope with the various stresses of life.
At just six months old, Cam was diagnosed with a very rare condition known as Hutchinson Gilford Progeria Syndrome (Progeria) which caused his body to age rapidly. While he was only 33 pounds, he always pulled more than his weight.
Cam was well-loved by many, including his friends from all over the world and his many caregivers. He loved spending time with his Progeria friends and their families. He made others’ lives better and brought so many people to tears with laughter and joy.
He enjoyed baseball, golf, basketball, football and hockey, basically every sport. His detailed knowledge of the players and statistics impressed even the most die-hard sports fans. He always rooted for the black and gold and other teams that were worthy of their game. He was an avid gamer and used gaming to connect with his many friends all over the world. Cam traveled the globe, from Brazil to Africa, the Caribbean and much of Europe. He lived a very rich life in the short time he enjoyed on Earth.
He is survived by both his parents; his sister, Riley Clare Howard; his stepmother, Edie (Eddie) Howard; and his stepsiblings, Madeline, Rileigh and Gavin Wine.
Cam was blessed with a large and loving family that provided him with everything they could offer. Please forward any donations in his memory to the Progeria Research Foundation or Canine Companions for Independence.
