BUFFALO TWP — Colton Flinner scored his first Late Model feature victory of the season at Lernerville Speedway in style Friday night.

Flinner had three top-five finishes on his 2023 record entering Friday, but had to start the feature from the eighth spot. He weaved his way through traffic and passed Chub Frank for second with 10 laps remaining. Only John Garvin Jr. was in front of him.

Lapped traffic gave Garvin trouble and Flinner grabbed the lead with eight laps to go. He held on for an emotional win.

“It was unbelievable,” Flinner was credited as saying in victory lane. “My dad’s battling cancer really bad and just to be able to win; I don’t know how much time he has left, so this really hits home for me. It means the world to both of us. My dad’s my hero.”

In other features:

Brandon Matus started on the pole in the Sprint race and held the lead throughout for his first feature win of the season at the Sarver oval. Matt Farnham took second and points leader AJ Flick finished third.

Garrett Krummert started alongside Brian Swartzlander in the Modified feature and went on to secure his third feature win of the campaign.

Rex King Jr. — who is battling Krummert for the points lead — took second and Swartzlander finished third.

Brian Daugherty started on the pole in the Pro Stock feature and took the lead from Curt Bish Jr. on the second lap. Daugherty picked up his first Lernerville win of the season, beating Brett McDonald and Tyler Dietz to the checkered flag.
