Margaret Steinhiser
Margaret M. “Marge” Steinhiser, 90, of Cabot, peacefully passed away, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at her home.
Born Feb. 14, 1933, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Charles A. Horn and Rita T. Rebholz Horn. Marge was the oldest of 16 children.
Marge had worked in the accounts payable and payroll department of Concordia Lutheran Ministries. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers, a Eucharistic minister, Sunday school teacher and was on the finance committee. She was a 40-year member of the Saxonburg American Legion Auxiliary 683, where she enjoyed baking and sewing with the junior auxiliary members. Marge loved sewing, making outfits for her children. She enjoyed baking, and baked goods were always available for family and friends when they stopped by. A favorite pastime was bird watching from her bay window.
Surviving are her children, Bruce (Lisa) Steinhiser of Renfrew, Janet Steinhiser of Cabot, Susan (Edward) O'Leath of Butler, John “Jack” Steinhiser of Butler, and Amy Lawson of Butler; 12 grandchildren, Matthew (Melissa) Steinhiser, Nicholas (Maureen) Steinhiser, Sean Steinhiser, Andrew Steinhiser, Cathleen (James) Martin, Steven (Melissa) O'Leath, Scott O'Leath, Phillip Steinhiser, Erik (Brittany Lawrence) Steinhiser, Samantha Lawson, Trent Lawson and Trevor Lawson; and 14 great-grandchildren, Kylee, Nora and Carver Steinhiser, Connor, Finnegan, Keegan and Rian Martin, Kaleb and Kolten O'Leath, Kaylee and Colleen O'Leath, and Evelina, Josie and Daisy Steinhiser; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Steinhiser; one grandson, Jeffrey O'Leath; and three of her siblings.
STEINHISER — Friends of Margaret M. “Marge” Steinhiser, who died Wednesday, July 12, 2023, will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 821 Herman Road, Butler.
Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Herman.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Francis of Assisi Parish.
