Seneca Valley hires new business manager
The Seneca Valley School District will have a new business manager by January 2024. The district officially appointed Dana Kirk to replace incumbent business manager Lynn Burtner.
The hiring became official at last month’s school board meeting on June 12. Burtner will retire at the end of the 2023 calendar year after 14½ years in the position, but will stay on until December to help Kirk transition into the role.
Previously, Kirk spent 20 years with the Pine-Richland School District in Allegheny County, where she worked in various financial roles, including Director of Financial & Operational Services.
“Ms. Kirk comes with a wealth of knowledge about school finance, school funding, capital improvements and school construction,” said Seneca Valley Superintendent Dr. Tracy Vitale in a statement. “We are fortunate that she chose Seneca Valley as the next step in her career, and we feel she will be a welcome addition to our team.”
There will be no school board meeting or work session for the Seneca Valley School District in the month of July.
