Rev. William Eaton

The Rev. William A. Eaton, 88, of Zelienople, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023, while under the care of Passavant Retirement Community.

Born Oct. 28, 1934, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late William A. Eaton Sr. and Edith Frey Eaton.

Bill was a faithful Christian man and became ordained as an Episcopal priest. He started two churches and pastored many others over the years. Bill most recently was a member of the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church. Bill loved hunting and spending time with family and friends at the family’s camp in Kinzua, located in Warren, Pa. Above all, Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 67 years, Ruthmary (Heinike) Eaton, whom he married on Oct. 2, 1954, and who passed away Sept. 10, 2022.

Bill is survived by his three children, James (Kathy) Eaton, of Plum, Philip (Susan) Eaton, of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Cori (Aaron) Dunn, of Harmony; his nine grandchildren, Matthew (Kate), Shawn, Connor (Nicolette), Erin (Trae), Katie, Annie, Morgan, Jordan and Rowan; his brothers, Glenn (Carol) Eaton, of Peachtree City, Ga. and Bob (Karen) Eaton, of Clearwater, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

EATON — A celebration of life service for both William and Ruthmary Eaton will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023, at the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church, 123 N. Pittsburgh St., Zelienople, with the Rev. Dan Owen officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Blvd., Zelienople.

Memorial donations may be made in Bill’s honor to the Passavant Benevolence Fund, 105 Burgess Drive, Zelienople, PA 16063, or to the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church Child Care Center, 123 N. Pittsburgh St., Zelienople, PA 16063.
