Joy Kummer
Joy Bea Kummer, 73, of Butler, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, July 3, 2023, at Butler Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born May 9, 1950, in Williamsport, and was the daughter of the late Leland Mechtly and Jeanette (Deatrich) McDonald.
Joy was a member of Faith Fellowship Alliance Church. She was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening and, most of all, sitting in the sun.
Surviving are her husband, Jack L. Kummer of Butler; three daughters, Connie (Mike) Kelly of Hilliards, Christine Sanderson of Butler and Amy Kummer of Butler; four grandchildren, Emmett Sanderson, Raymond Sanderson, Faith Kelly and Trenten Kelly; her two sisters, Verna Prentice of Butler and Lynee (John) Blair of Greer, S.C.; her half-sister, Jill Walls of Butler; a half-brother, Jan McDonald of Mercer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Wylie Fisher.
KUMMER — A celebration of life for Joy Bea Kummer, who died Monday, July 3, 2023, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faithway-Fared Drive, Butler with her pastor Richard Jenks officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.
