Gerald Smithbauer
Gerald Lawrence “Jerry” Smithbauer, 52, of Slippery Rock, passed away at home on Sunday, July 2, 2023.
Born Dec. 18, 1970, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Donald and Shelba Ingold Smithbauer.
Jerry was a member of Community Alliance Church in Butler. He was a 1989 graduate of Freedom Area Senior High School. Jerry was employed as a sales manager at Honda North in Renfrew and at #1 Cochran Subaru in Butler, where he retired in 2018. Jerry loved to travel, and he especially enjoyed Mexico and the Dominican Republic. He loved animals of all kinds and enjoyed photographing them. He loved his dogs, Oscar, Tucker and Pete, and his cats, Jinxie, Fleury and Marty. Above all, Jerry loved his wife, his sons and his family. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
Jerry leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Tina Codispot Smithbauer, whom he married on Oct. 3, 1998; his sons, Noah Weston Smithbauer and Gabriel Alexander Smithbauer; his siblings, Kevin Davis, Steven (Teena) Smithbauer, Kathy (Wayne) Mick, Joe (Chris) Smithbauer, Lisa (Ron) Simmons and Donald (Brenda) Smithbauer; his father-in-law, Leonard Codispot Jr.; his brother-in-law, Leonard Codispot III; numerous nieces and nephews; and his best friends, Candice Vincent and Daniel Carbone.
SMITHBAUER — A memorial service for Gerald Lawrence “Jerry” Smithbauer, who died Sunday, July 2, 2023, is planned for 3 p.m. Thursday at the Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road, Butler, with Pastor Joe Floris officiating.
Donations may be made in honor of Jerry’s memory to Sunshine Farm Cat Rescue, 125 Crolls Mill Road, Slippery Rock, PA 16057.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.
