Chutz

Ronald E. Chutz, 74, of Mt. Washington, beloved husband of Dorothy (Klepper) Chutz, left us on Sunday, June 25, 2023.

He was the loving father of Joshua Chutz (Tia) and Jensina Chutz; grandfather of Lena, Marlo, and Sunny; and brother of Tim, Mike, Tina Kulman, and the late Mim Chutz.

Ron was a man who loved his family and friends, golf and music. All of us who knew him shared many memorable moments because of these loves. He was a "doer" — taking action was his love language — if you had a problem he wanted to solve it. And he was sure he could solve it better than anyone else. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for his family and friends.

Ron was a guy who believed he belonged wherever he was and had something to offer. This allowed him to provide unbelievable opportunities for his friends and family. His love of music and golf combined for amazing times, such as the time he took the brass section of The Rolling Stones golfing, and in return, the Stones invited him and his family (17 of us!) backstage and to the best seats in the house when they played PNC Park.

Business and music combined when he joined the board at the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. He passionately believed in our symphony. But even more, he believed in and loved the musicians. He wanted all of Pittsburgh and the world to love them as much as he did.

Family, friends and business collided again and again. Ron started countless successful businesses with his siblings, children and closest friends. He took pride in mentoring anyone who wanted to take a risk and be an entrepreneur. Ron lived his life believing that whether an endeavor would succeed or fail, the risk was always worth it.

Ron was a big personality, and we could all see that in his fashion choices. Fantastic glasses and artsy shoes were the punctuation to his bright and bold wardrobe.

Ron wouldn't want his send-off to be somber. So please join us in your own bright and bold choices to celebrate the Husband, Dad, Poppy, Brother, Uncle and Friend we all loved.

CHUTZ — A memorial service for Ronald E. Chutz, who died June 25, 2023, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2023, at Alla Famiglia, 804 E. Warrington Ave., Pittsburgh. A lunch will follow.

Arrangements are under the direction of SCHELLHAAS AND SONS FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1600 Stone Mansion Drive, Sewickley.
