The Zelienople Historical Society will host the Veterans and Athletes United Fallen Heroes Memorial from July 2 to 5 in Four Corners Park.

The traveling tribute will feature the dog tags of the 7,000 members of the U.S. military who have lost their lives in the Global War on Terror.

The dog tags are arranged to create a 28- by 6-foot display, symbolizing an American flag.

There will be 50 gold stars honoring all Gold Star families nationwide that will be displayed in front of the flag as a battlefield cross sculpted from mahogany wood by veteran artist Alicia Dietz.

Those interested in donating can write a check to the Zelienople Historical Society, or purchase a $2 white cross.
