Richard Federkeil
Richard D. Federkeil Sr., 88, of Butler, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at his family farm.
Born June 30, 1934, in Dorseyville, Allegheny County; he was the son of the late Roy A. and Aimee L. Fleck Federkeil.
In 1996, he retired as a foreman from the former Butler Armco, after 31 years.
He was a lifelong farmer, both in his youth and then on his own farm in Franklin Township, well known as the Level Crest Farm on Dick Road.
He adored his family, grandkids, and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are his children Lynne Ellis, of Cranberry Township, Cheri Newcomb, of Butler, Richard (Sheri) Federkeil Jr., of Butler; his grandchildren Jamie (Josh) Green, Brian (Katie) Ellis, Chris (Melissa) Newcomb, Jill (Patrick) McCurdy, Alyssa (Nick Minnis) Newcomb, Megan Hineman, Thomas (Gail) Hineman; his great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Makayla, Sienna, Riley, Madeline, Aubrey, Caden, Marin, Maggie, Stella, Carter, Colin and Victoria; his brother John (Janet) Federkeil, of West Mifflin; and 16 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Jean Dyer Federkeil, whom he married June 16, 1956, and who passed away Dec. 7, 2017; four sisters; and two brothers.
FEDERKEIL — Visitation for Richard D. Federkeil Sr., who died June 24, 2023, will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at RAISLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 387 Main St., Prospect.
There will be additional visitation from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ben Oesterling, pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Prospect, officiating.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Butler.
