Larry Tinnerman
Dr. Larry Tinnerman passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023.
Born in Butler, he was the son of John and Mary Tinnerman.
Dr. Tinnerman received his doctoral teaching degree at the lndiana University of Pennsylvania, and shortly after accepted a position at lndiana State University, in Terre Haute, lnd., where he resided for the past 15 years.
Dr. Tinnerman's lifetime passion for music included drum and bugle, and he was affiliated with the drum and bugle corps in Pittsburgh. He and a friend started their own drum and bugle corps in Indiana, and named it the Storm.
At ISU, Dr. Tinnerman worked closely with local students, foreign exchange students and taught online classes. He taught year round — another passion of his.
His students remarked, “He was our voice, he was our encouragement, he never let us quit, he made a difference.” Respected by all, loved by many.
Larry is survived by a sister, Mrs. Daniel (Diane) Clark; one niece, Mrs. Brien (Karen) Huffman; one great niece, Ashley; and a great-nephew, Brayden Huffman.
Both of his parents preceded him in death.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for his immediate family.
