Barry Slease
Barry P. Slease, 81, of Butler, formerly of Kittanning, passed away the morning of Friday, June 23, 2023, at his home in Clay Township surrounded by his family.
Born on Dec. 1, 1941, in East Franklin Township, Kittanning, he was the son of the late Edward S. Slease and late Vivian Acye (Schrecengost) Slease.
Barry was a member of Rider Lutheran Church. He worked for Suburban Refuse in West Sunbury for many years and also in the custodial department for Moniteau School District. He enjoyed NASCAR and the Pittsburgh Pirates. He loved Elvis and liked to mow grass while drinking a beer.
Barry is survived by his wife, Judy I. (Crissman) Slease, whom he married on Feb. 18, 1966; two daughters, Traci Lee Slease, of Butler, and Lori Lynn (Jay) Black, of Eau Claire; one granddaughter, Nicole (Andrew) Vilsack; and one brother, Nathan Dean Slease (Wendy), of Rimersburg.
He was preceded in death by his close cousins, David and Edward Clark.
SLEASE — Family and friends of Barry P. Slease, who died June 23, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday for visitation at the WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Dennis R. Hindman Sr. officiating.
Burial will be in Rider Church Cemetery.
