Paula J. Bonfield, 72, of New Castle, passed away the evening of June 15, 2023.

She was born May 12, 1951, in Pittsburgh.

Paula was a 1969 graduate of Butler High School. She continued her education at the former St. Francis School of Nursing, graduating in 1972 as a registered nurse.

She worked at St. Francis Hospital in the Pediatrics Department. She then continued running the Pediatric Clinic and concluded her career working in the private practice of Dr. Sommerfeld.

Paula enjoyed working outside with her roses and coloring. She was always happy and enjoyed life. A loving mother and sister, Paula’s greatest joy was being around family and friends, especially her granddaughter, who was Paula’s pride and joy, for whom she would do anything to make her happy.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Himchak.

She is survived by her mother, Sophia Himchak. In addition to her mother, Paula is survived by her daughter, Erin Bonfield; her brother, Michael Himchak (Marsha); her sister, Karen Fair (Ed); and her beloved granddaughter, Samantha Bonfield.
