The Mars Area High School dance team recently held its second annual youth clinic June 7 and 8 at the high school gym. A portion of the proceeds benefited Inspired Hearts and Hands, according to the team.

About 80 students, in kindergarten through eighth grade, participated.

A Gibsonia-based nonprofit organization, Inspired Hearts and Hands provides food, clothes and shoes to disadvantaged families. This year, dance team donations will provide over 100 pairs of athletic shoes for area disadvantaged elementary students for the upcoming school year.

For the last two years, the dance team has also participated in a Thanksgiving food drive collection for the organization.
