Charles Warner Jr.

Warner

Charles V. Warner Jr., 73, of Grove City, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family, while receiving care at Canterbury Place in Pittsburgh early Saturday morning, June 17, 2023.

Charles was born on July 6, 1949, in Baltimore, Md., to Charles and Catherine Warner. He married Linda Jane Thompson in 2007, who survives at the residence.

Charles began his 50-year career in health care at Grove City Bashline Hospital in 1966 and played a significant role in the hospital’s transformational history. He began work as an orderly, later becoming a licensed physical therapist. He then moved on to purchasing and ended his career in 2016 as the director of purchasing at Grove City Medical Center.

He and Linda enjoyed fellowship with their church family at Crossroads Baptist Church in Slippery Rock where Charles enjoyed singing gospel music. He had a duck collection, enjoyed making wood carvings and most of all loved spending time with his family. Special to him were his dogs, Inki 5 Toes, Inki 2 and Abby. He loved to feed peanuts to the squirrels at Memorial Park in Grove City.

Survivors include his wife, Linda, at home; daughter, Lisa M. (Tim) Schulter of Butler; son, Jonathan E. (Mackenzie) Warner of Vermillion, S.D.; brother, C. Michael (Becky) Warner of Denton, Texas; and two special granddaughters, Olivia J. and Emmaline G. Warner.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife of 40 years, Donna Kaye Seivers Warner; and two sisters, Leslie Anne Simpkiss and Paula Blouse.
