Thunell

James “Jim” V. Thunell, 87, of Valencia, passed on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Donna (Mattes) Thunell for 52 years.

He was the dear father of Timothy (Aliene) Thunell, Natalie Bennett, Nikki Biela, Alicia (Bryan) Strong and the late Patrick Thunell; proud grandfather of Tiberious, Rhiannon, Skyler, Victoria, Morgan, Tyler, Kacey, Mackenzie, Riley and Ryan; and brother of Suzanne Romanelli, Cathy Fiorillo and the late Virginia Thomas.

Jim owned and operated two printing companies. He always said, it wasn't a “job,” because he loved the business. In addition to his love of printing, everyone knew how much his family meant to him. When you spoke to Jim, he genuinely listened, asked questions and was interested in your answer. Anyone who spent time with Jim came away with a sense that he truly cared about them. Above all, he loved his wife, children and grandchildren.

THUNELL — Family of James “Jim” V. Thunell, who died Tuesday, June 13, 2023, will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME, 5864 Heckert Road, Box 143, Bakerstown.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Mark the Evangelist Parish, Holy Sepulcher Church, Middlesex Township.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Parkinson's Foundation of Western PA, 575 Lincoln Ave., Bellevue, PA 15202
