Rodney L. McAnallen

Rodney L. McAnallen, 69, of Karns City, died Monday, June 12, 2023, at his home.

Born Jan. 15, 1954, in Butler, he was the son of Leo J. and Thelma M. (Allen) McAnallen.

On Nov. 18, 2004, Rodney married the former Luanne M. Anderson, and she survives.

A 1972 graduate of Butler High School, Rodney began his career as a “tankee” and joined Boilermakers Local 154 in 1976. Rodney was a hardworking, no-nonsense tradesman for 32 years, retiring in 2008.

Rodney and Luanne co-owned the All Stars Bar & Restaurant in East Brady, where he often could be found visiting with friends. He was liked by everyone.

After a career of traveling, Rodney enjoyed his retirement at home, where he could hunt, fish, go for buggy rides, listen to the Pittsburgh Pirates, cook a meal on the deck and be in the company of his dog, Zeus.

Surviving are his wife Luanne McAnallen of Karns City; one son, Adam McAnallen of Karns City; one stepson, Matt (Kelli) Hillwig of Harmony; and two grandsons, Trace and Kayce Hillwig.

He also is survived by two nephews, Clay and Jason McAnallen; one great-nephew, Nathan McAnallen; and his sister-in-law, Lynne Kovach.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Daniel.

At his request, no services will be held for Rodney.

McANALLEN — Memorials for Rodney L. McAnallen, who died Monday, June 12, 2023, may be made in Rodney’s name to the East Brady Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 325, East Brady, PA 16028.
