Local opera star to host benefit concert

Marianne Cornetti, international Verdi mezzo soprano and Butler County native, will host and perform in an upcoming event to benefit a mental health fund.

Marianne Cornetti and Friends Benefit Concert will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 11, at Carnegie Music Hall in Pittsburgh.

Cornetti, a Knoch High School graduate and international Verdi mezzo soprano opera star, is hosting and performing in the concert to benefit the Making Minds Matter Fund at UPMC Western Behavioral Health in Pittsburgh.

Cornetti’s special guest will be Meghan Picerno, world-renowned Broadway actor and opera singer.

Other performers are Robert Frankenberry, Katy Williams, Danielle Pastin, Flavio Chamis, Kevin Glavin and Daniel Teadt.
