Richard Allyn Phillips, Sr., 76, of Harmony, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023, at UPMC Passavant Hospital in Cranberry.

Born March 2, 1947, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Charles and Katherine Van Ryn Phillips.

Richard proudly served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a past master at the Corinthian Lodge F&AM 573. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a postman. He also worked as a police officer and was a volunteer fireman.

He was an amazing artist and enjoyed woodworking in his free time. Richard will be lovingly remembered for his sense of humor and dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Richard Jr. (Jennifer), Joseph, Michael (Martha), Donald, Ronald (Belinda) and Robert (Kimberly); his beloved grandson, Richard III; his grandchildren, Joanna, Sarah, Eric and Tia; his great-grandchildren, Robert and Breanna; his siblings, Chuck Phillips, Leroy Bunyan, Diane Williams, Patty Knoll and Catherine Phillips; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, Nancy E. Phillips; and his daughter, Sheila Phillips.

PHILLIPS — Friends of Richard Allyn Phillips, who died Thursday, June 1, 2023, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, with a celebration of life service at 7 p.m. at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME INC., 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with Pastor Reid Moon officiating.

He will be laid to rest at Pinewood Memorial Gardens in Cranberry Township.
