Juanita J. Martin, 102, of North Washington, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023.

Born on June 4, 1920, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Fred DeVault and late Hazel (Chips) DeVault.

Juanita was a member of the North Washington Presbyterian Church and the North Washington VFD Ladies Auxillary. She retired from Moniteau School District, where she was a schoolteacher for many years. She liked to travel and enjoyed golfing, bowling, bridge, snowmobiling and skiing in her younger years.

Juanita is survived by her son, Gilbert “Gib” McGarvey, of Brooklyn, N.Y., and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gilbert McGarvey; her second husband, Kenneth Martin; and two brothers, Little Freddy and Donald DeVault.

MARTIN — Family and friends of Juanita J. Martin, who died Wednesday, May 31, 2023, will be received for visitation from 11 a.m. to noon. Saturday at WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Edmundson of North Washington Presbyterian Church officiating.

Burial will be in North Washington Cemetery.
