James Resnick

James Anthony “Jim” Resnick of Manorville, formerly of Butler, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023, following a sudden cardiac event.

A proud native of Slickville, he was born Feb. 9, 1954, in Latrobe Hospital.

He starred in football, basketball, and baseball at Greensburg Central Catholic High School (’72), and went on to graduate from Princeton University (’76) and the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Business (’86). He showed his love for Princeton by interviewing prospective students at over 100 high schools throughout Western Pennsylvania.

He was a lover of his family and friends, baseball, basketball, soccer, Pennsylvania’s river and streams, Western Pennsylvania high school sports, and all things Portuguese or Slovenian. He was a loving and devoted husband, father to three children and four stepchildren, and Dedo to seven and Pappy to 19 grandchildren.

His survivors include his beloved wife of 30 years, April Resnick; his children, Anna Resnick (Keith Shidemantle) of Boise, Idaho, Anthony (Tara) Resnick of Natrona Heights, and Jane Resnick of Pittsburgh; and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father Anthony, mother Gladys, brothers Charles and David, and sister Patricia.

RESNICK — The family will be holding a private memorial service for James Anthony “Jim” Resnick, who died Thursday, May 25, 2023.
