Philip Donald Sleigher, 78, of East Butler, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023.

He was born June 17, 1944, in Butler, a son of the late Lewis Sylvester Sleigher and Dorothy Joyce (McClay) Sleigher.

Philip was a retired machinist, having worked for International Staple and Machine Company in East Butler for more than 25 years. He was a member of the American Legion, the Legion Riders, the VFW and the East Butler Firehall.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the United States Navy.

Surviving are his children, Shawn Sleigher of Clarington, Pa., Joseph Sleigher of Spartanburg, S.C., and Dawn Sleigher and Philip Sleigher II, both of East Butler; a granddaughter, Stephanie Sleigher-Hinchberger of Butler; a great-granddaughter, Lyric Sleigher of Butler; a stepdaughter, Amanda Cazares of Texas; a stepgranddaughter, Ziggy Cazares of Texas; two brothers, Michael Sleigher of East Butler and Lewis “Butch” Sleigher of Knoxville, Tenn.; and two sisters, JoAnn Halahan of Antioch, Calif., and Sister Stella Marie of Baltic, Conn.

SLEIGHER — No services are planned at this time for Philip Donald Sleigher, who died Thursday, May 25, 2023.

Burial will be in St. Wendelin Cemetery.
