Esther Miller, 99, passed away on April 25, 2023, in Ruskin, Fla.

She was born on Dec. 6, 1923, in Renfrew, to James H. Reed and Sarah B. Nicklas.

Esther and her family resided in the Butler area until 1977 when she and husband Leland moved to Zephyrhills, Fla., where they built and managed a small RV park. In 1987, they sold the business and built a home in Fort King Acres where she resided until her passing.

Esther was an independent, friendly and loving person. She dedicated her life to her family and was a devoted, full-time wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her favorite pastime was traveling in their travel trailer with her husband, Leland, during their 62 years of marriage. Esther also enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, gardening, puzzling and cooking in her free time.

Esther was preceded in death by her father; mother; husband, Leland Miller; daughter, Joyce Sankey; sister, Ruth Holms; and brother, James L Reed.

She is survived by her sisters, Jane Stephens and Jean Boyd; her son, Ralph Miller, and wife, Lea; Joyce’s husband, Loyal Sankey; her grandson, Scott Miller, and wife, Kelly; her grandson, Jeff Miller, and wife, Aimee; her grandson, Michael Sankey; her granddaughter, Lisa DeMartino; and her great-grandchildren, Parker and Olivia Miller, and Pressly and Jacxson DeMartino.

MILLER — Esther Miller, who died Tuesday, April 25, 2023, will be interred next to Leland at Bushnell National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla., with a memorial service information to be announced at a later date.
