Lernerville races canceled by rain
BUFFALO TWP — A series of storms containing heavy showers Friday forced cancellation of Lernerville Speedway’s racing program Friday night.
Lernerville will host two shows this week, including a Test & Tune Tuesday with an appearance from the Butler County Tourism Mini Stocks for a full race program. Fab4 racing returns next Friday with the $2,000 Bob Lambert Memorial Pro Stock race plus an appearance from the Allegheny Sprint Tour 305 Sprint Cars.
Mars grad Anderson sets Pitt walk mark
RALEIGH, N.C. — Mars graduate Jack Anderson drew his 52nd walk of the season for Pitt in the Panhers’ 7-2 baseball loss to North Carolina State.
The walk snapped the previous team record of 51, set by Steven Shelinski 10 years ago. Anderson has drawn 81 walks in his Pitt career.
Brown picks up 2 more victories
WASHINGTON, Pa. — Fast Lane Frank, driven by Slippery Rock resident Brady Brown and trained by Steve Schoeffel of Evans City, won a $9,000 Conditioned Trot on Thursday during harness racing action at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Virginia and Kathy Schoeffel have part ownership of the 3-year-old gelding.
Brown added a second win when he drove Battin A Thousand to victory in a $10,900 Conditioned Trot.
