College Notes

LIZ SIMMS (Butler) earned her third silver medal in a row at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track Championships, running the initial portion of the 3,200-meter relay for Davidson College. The team finished with a time of 8:55, beating 15 other teams at the event, which was held at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

LUKE VITTONE (Eden Christian/Seven Fields) scored two runs, had a double, and earned a walk in the first game of a Grove City College twin bill with Chatham Saturday. The Wolverines won that contest, 13-3, and set a new single-season program record with 29 wins this go-round.

NASH BRYAN (Butler) got through the ninth inning of a 5-0 Pitt road win over Georgia Tech using only 13 pitches. He got two flyouts and a groundout to earn his eighth save of the year. JACK ANDERSON (Mars) went 1-for-3 for the Panthers, with an RBI double in the visitors’ eighth. He also worked two walks after reaching base on balls three times in the first clash of the series on Friday.

JOCELYN MCNANY (Cranberry Township/Seneca Valley) belted a home run for Penn State Behrend in a 4-1 win over Alfred State Saturday. The homer plated a pair of runs as her team earned its fifth doubleheader sweep of the season and the title of Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference regular-season champions.

JACOB PATTON (Harrisville/Moniteau) won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.99 as Westminster’s men’s track and field team took part in the Slippery Rock University Last Chance meet Friday. ANTHONY KAMENSKI (Chicora/Karns City) took first place in the 400-meter hurdles (55.51).

AIDAN DOMENCIC (Cranberry Township/Seneca Valley) finished second in the 5,000-meter run as Penn State Behrend won the Colonial States Athletic Conference Championship at Gallaudet
