I received the letter from BASA on April 20, 2023, concerning the sale of the waste water system to PA American Water. Upon completion of this sale, not only are the rates going to increase, the sewer rates will then be determined by the amount of metered water we use.

What concerns me is the water that does not run through the sewer system. Water that people use to wash the car, water the lawn and pressure wash driveway, siding etc. Not only will the water bill be higher that month, the sewer bill will be higher also, and that metered water did not go into the sewer system.

Paying higher sewer bill for water used outside is not right. Something to think about.
