Matthews, Moniteau score 8-1 victory

Brock Matthews scattered four hits and struck out 10 on a soggy Tuesday evening as Moniteau’s baseball team defeated Cranberry, 8-1.

Keagan Book had the big bat for the Warriors, collecting a home run, triple and four RBI. Connor Ealy had a pair of singles, scored two runs and drive one in for Moniteau.

Dawson Wallace singled, scored two runs and had an RBI as Moniteau had six hits in the contest.

Austin Shoup had a triple, single and scored Cranberry’s lone run.

Boys Volleyball

Thanks in part to Grant Hoover’s 21 kills and Steven Mazur’s 29 assists and 13 digs, Seneca Valley downed North Hills in four sets Tuesday night. The Raiders dropped the initial set, 25-23, before claiming the next three by scores of 25-19, 25-10, and 28-26.

Matt Cinker added a dozen digs and Nick Dunmire three blocks.
