Eighteen years have gone by.

As the memories fill my soul,

Some are yellowed, faded and worn

While others are warm and tender.

I still look for the signs

And know when you are by my side.

If God granted us just a minute together,

I’d hold your hand and gaze at your face.

I’d look deep into your eyes and

Try to imprint the moment on my heart.

I’d tell you that I’ve always loved you

And will always miss you.

I’d only ask to hear you call me Mama

And smile your sweet smile for me.
