Four Butler County high school track and field squads will compete in the WPIAL team playoffs, which begin Tuesday.

In Class 3A boys, Butler will travel to Norwin for a meet beginning at 3:30 p.m. The Golden Tornado will take on the host Knights, Connellsville and Franklin Regional.

Elsewhere, Seneca Valley will take part in a meet at South Fayette starting at 2:30 p.m. The meet will include South Fayette, New Castle, Penn-Trafford and SV.

In Class 2A, both Knoch teams will be in action at Shenango High School starting at 3:30 p.m.

Knoch’s boys will face Hopewell, Riverview and Shenango.

Knoch’s girls will compete against Hopewell, Shenango, Carlynton and Beaver.

The team that prevails from each meet will advance to the WPIAL team championship May 9. The Class 3A finals will be held at West Mifflin High School while Class 2A teams will head to Peters Township High School.
