The Slippery Rock University softball team closed out a 3-1 victory over California (Pa.) University on Thursday.

The game, originally part of a doubleheader last Saturday, was suspended after five innings due to inclement weather with The Rock leading 3-1.

SRU pitcher Alexsa Hurd worked two scoreless innings to seal the complete-game victory. She improved her record this season to 9-3 after striking out six, walking two and allowing the one run on five hits.

Anna Villies contributed a single, double and two runs batted in to the win while teammate Grace Smith had two base hits, scored once and drove in one.

The Rock (24-18, 15-9) hosts Gannon in a doubleheader on Tuesday.
