Saxonburg Council
At their meeting on Wednesday, April 17, the Saxonburg borough council:
√ Heard Aaron Piper, council president, advocate for a borough Facebook page. He suggested the page announce upcoming events, borough activities, museum information and other items, but not include a comments section. Councilwoman Mia Mazza-Petruzzi suggested that a small committee of council members review items before they are posted. Action may be taken on the matter at the May council meeting.
√ Approved the new Roebling Park rental agreement, which removes Cooper Hall from the rental options. The hall is being leased to a fitness company. The base fee to rent the park for the day is $200 for a resident and $250 for a nonresident.
√ Approved closing Main Street for the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company’s Pet Parade for 1.5 hours on June 27, and for 3.5 hours for the Fireman’s Parade on June 29.
√ Approved closing Main Street for almost three hours for Saxonburg Area Business Association’s Octoberfest Parade on Sept. 7.
√ Approved the removal and disposal of damaged drywall sheeting in the police training room. Restoration Contracting Services will do the work.
√ Approved Gregori Construction to complete the replacement of the Wire Rope Shop fence at Roebling Park.
