CLEARFIELD TWP — No animals or people were injured Friday afternoon when a fire destroyed a barn on Allen Drive.

Multiple fire departments responded around 3 p.m. Friday to a fire at a 20-foot-by-40-foot barn at 116 Allen Drive, which is located off Old Route 422.

Within 15 minutes, a second alarm was sounded, bringing more departments to the scene.

The barn was deemed a total loss, Lt. Zach Grates of the East Butler Fire Department said. The cause of the fire was unknown, he said.

Relatives of the property owner thanked the efforts of firefighters, who might have prevented the fire from spreading to another nearby barn.

“I’m really happy that it was just that building, and it didn’t hit the main barn or hurt our goats,” Emily Kramer said.

“We just want to thank everyone that came out today,” said Amanda Kramer. “No one got hurt and the animals were safe.”
