Hames has big day for SV

Lexie Hames turned in a fantastic performance for Seneca Valley in a 8-0 softball win over Baldwin Monday. She belted a three-run homer at the dish and fanned 16 in the circle, while Kara Pasquale pushed in two runs and had a double and triple.

Mars 12, Hopewell 6 — Taylor Schmitt went 5-for-5 at the plate and Gabby Rapport notched her first win of the year in the circle for the Planets.

Armstrong 11, Knoch 1 — Lindsay Edwards, Madi Gardner, and Brynne Smith all had a hit, but the Knights lost in five innnings. Smith pushed across Knoch’s only run. The Knights will be back in action Wednesday against Mars.

Boys Volleyball

Butler finished second out of 16 teams at the Norwin Tournament on Saturday.

After defeating Bethel Park, Armstrong and Altoona, the Golden Tornado bowed to the host Knights, 25-19, in the championship match.
