Nancy Ann Lynn

Nancy Ann Lynn, 76, of Charlotte, N.C., passed away after a brief illness on Nov. 18, 2022.

The oldest of five children, Nancy was born on Oct. 11, 1946, to Veronica (Allman) and LeRoy Spafford in Geneva, N.Y.

She attended DeSales High School in New York, and enjoyed traveling, and had lived in several states.

Nancy was a prep cook for various restaurants and institutions throughout her life. She enjoyed animals, particularly cats. She was an owner of many pets over the years and almost always had one close by.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; a sister, Linda Spafford; a brother, Richard Spafford; and her son’s father, William Angellotti.

She is survived by her son, Steven Angellotti of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Kathy (Chuck) Blattenberger of Ephrata, Pa.; a brother, Jim (Jean) Spafford of Chicora; two nieces, Jessica Spafford of Glade Spring, Va., and Catherine (Steve) Loeffler of Zelienople; and two great-nieces, Melody and Harmony Loeffler.

Nancy’s son, Steve, was her most faithful companion in life and was never far from her side.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and doctors at Northeast Hospital in Charlotte, N.C., for their excellent care of Nancy during her brief hospitalization. The family is comforted with the knowledge that she spent her final days treated with dignity and respect.

Last, but certainly not least, the family would like to express their utmost gratitude to Nancy’s longtime caregiver, Vivian Renfro. Ms. Renfro not only took excellent care of Nancy, but she went above and beyond by serving as a companion and friend. She did many things that were not in her job description to make Nancy’s daily life more enjoyable. Her compassion and empathy is something to be emulated, and the family sincerely thanks her for all she has done for Nancy and her son, Steve.

Nancy led a simple life, and as such, she chose not to have a viewing or funeral. Nancy will live on in the memories of her family members. May she rest in peace.
