Christian Shaffer

Christian Shaffer, 19, the son of Marci Landsperger of Slippery Rock, graduated from Marine boot camp March 17.

Shaffer will be sent to Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri where he will be trained to become a motor transport operator.

Shaffer, who was attending Slippery Rock University for music education, decided to take the spring semester off so he could enlist in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. Upon completion of his training, Shaffer plans to return to SRU to obtain his bachelor’s degree in music education
